Casting three pairs of eyes across a number of different courses run by Leeds Metropolitan University, University of Leeds and Leeds College of Art & Design we have selected these artists as fine examples of the diverse and multi disciplinary approaches to art that emerge from these institutions on a yearly basis. Essentially one exhibition in two venues, Holy Trinity and St Johns, that will present work coming from a traditional perspective alongside that of a more conceptual nature. |

Using homemade equipment we will be able to allow people to screen print their own images. Results are best from strong contrast B&W images. In the morning we will be able to show you how to coat the the screens with photographic emulsion and develop a stron B&W image onto this. Throughout the afternoon we will then be mixing colours and printing from the screens. We hope to be able to send some of the products of these workshops to Holy Trinity Sunderland for exhibiting there as part of the TRANS=SEND mail art project that is ongoing. |

Spread over 20 venues across Leeds and Liverpool including Tate Liverpool, Holy Trinity, Design Innovation Centre (Leeds), Red Eric Studios (Leeds), Red Wire Studios (Liverpool) and many more the venues will be curated according to the work supplied by the 50 artists taking part. The aim of this exhibition, as with all previous Peripheral shows, is to present current work that is representitive of the artists ongoing practice and agendas as well as to develop a strategy for the presentation of quite disparate styles and themes in a manner that is coherent and brings to the forefront the collaborative nature of the shows. |

At Holy Trinity he will be presenting a live feed from multiple CCTV cameras intercut with pre-recorded footage of actors, thereby repositioning the performances within the real environment of the church. A collaboration between Kenneth G Hay, Andrew Kelly and Richard Taylor. Linked via video web link artists in Leeds and Xiamen, China will interact through a formulated art machine to unite Eastern and Western practice. The event is held as part of Andrew Kelly's solo exhibition (THIS) Apparent Nothing at the Chinese European Art Centre in Xiamen. Artists will be responding to certain instructions within specific parameters. Through formulated excersises, the idea of proportions within space will translate to artists of any origin to link perceptual / architectural space with conceptual space, creating interactive happenings, drawings, video pieces and more. Language shall not hinder or dictate proceedings. The aim is to identify and connect the distinctions between Chinese and British Art Practice. Members of the public visiting the exhibition will be encouraged to participate as part of the formulae.
